BACKGROUND:

For those considering an eventual or imminent return to the UK, it is important to understand the key considerations for a tax efficient move as well as the social implications of settling back in after being away for a period of time.

After enjoying low-income tax on Singapore earnings, no tax on investment income and no National Insurance deductions, moving back to a high tax jurisdiction like the UK can often end up being a shock and a huge setback.

However, with a little care and planning, the UK can actually be surprisingly tax-efficient.

The British Chamber of Commerce and Select Investors, a Division of St. James's Place (Singapore) Private Limited, invites you to join this special webinar from Martin Rimmer, Head of Tax for Select Investors, and Nigel Preston, past CEO of St. James's Place Singapore, where guests will be educated on the main issues and planning opportunities which will make a real difference in your UK repatriation.

WHAT YOU WILL LEARN:

Martin will share the key considerations to ensure a tax efficient move; and will be joined by Nigel Preston, Singapore resident from 2014 to 2018 whilst CEO of St. James's Place Singapore, now Non-Executive Director of Select Investors and re-established UK citizen since June 2018.

As a recent 'returnee' to the UK and someone who has been through the planning process as well as the actual move and resettlement into the UK, Nigel will share his first hand experiences of planning for the move back to the UK, the journey itself and settling down again.

The event will also be valuable to non-British nationals who are considering a move to the UK.
