HM Trade Commissioner for Asia Pacific at Department for International Trade

Natalie Black is Her Majesty’s Trade Commissioner (HMTC) for Asia Pacific, covering North-East Asia, South-East Asia and Australasia.

Previously, Natalie was the Deputy Head of the Number 10 Policy Unit where she championed the UK’s tech sector and developed the new modern industrial strategy. In addition to this role, Natalie held the post of Director of the Internet Harms Unit where she coordinated efforts to tackle the challenges of the internet including terrorist use and online safety. Her first role in the Civil Service was Deputy Director and then Director of the Office of Cyber Security in the Cabinet Office where she oversaw the National Cyber Security Strategy and the National Cyber Security Programme.

Before joining the Civil Service, Natalie was the Chief of Staff for Security at the London Organising Committee of the Olympic and Paralympic Games, London2012, and a management consultant.

Natalie is a graduate of the London School of Economics and Harvard Kennedy School, where she was a Fulbright scholar.

Tim is Chair of the British Chamber of Commerce Singapore Energy & Utilities Business Committee since 2016. The committee comprises representatives from a broad range of segments across the industry including international companies with a regional presence in Singapore, renewable energy and infrastructure developers, energy legal and finance professionals, technical, engineering companies, academic, industry institutes and the British High Commission. The Chamber holds regular events, many open to all, and aims to connect British business interests with counterparts in Singapore and the region.

Tim founded Energy Strat Asia in 2019 to support specialist energy services and technology companies develop and grow in Asia. Having spent over two decades in KPMG, joining in the United Kingdom 22 years ago he transferred to the Singapore office in November 2012 establishing the KPMG Global Energy Institute for Asia Pacific. Before arriving in Singapore, he lived in Bahrain and worked across the Middle East for 7 years.

Mr Satvinder Singh is Assistant Chief Executive Officer of Enterprise Singapore, overseeing Trade & Connectivity and Business Services.
Enterprise Singapore is the government agency championing enterprise development. We work with committed companies to build capabilities, innovate and internationalise. It also supports the growth of Singapore as a hub for global trading and startups, and builds trust in Singapore’s products and services
through quality and standards.

The Trade team fosters the growth of Singapore’s wholesale distribution sector firms and strengthens the competitiveness of Singapore’s trade eco-system. The wholesale trade sector, made up of 34,000 firms, is the third largest contributor to Singapore’s economy and is one of the largest employers of PMETs. The Connectivity division drives the growth and capability of Singapore’s transport and logistics companies; partnering them in their business transformation, capabilities building and international growth. The Business Services group oversees the growth internationally and capabilities of Singapore companies in professional services.

Besides Enterprise Singapore, Mr Singh is a Director to the Board of CrimsonLogic Pte Ltd. He is also Director of SEL Holdings Incorporation Ltd of the Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS). He is an alternate member to the Air Traffic Rights Committee since December 2018. He also sits on the International Chamber Commerce (ICC) Academy Board of Directors and is a member of the National Trade and Logistics Inter-Agency Steering Committee.
Mr Singh attended Harvard Business School’s Advanced Management Program in 2017.

Wesley provides relationship oversight and client coverage for all UK parented subsidiary businesses operating in South East Asia. He has been a corporate banker for 20 years supporting UK and International businesses across multiple sectors.

He has experience in Corporate Coverage, PLC debt, Leveraged Finance, Asset Finance and IPO funding. Starting his career at Alliance and Leicester Commercial Finance he has subsequently worked for National Australia Bank, Clydesdale Yorkshire Banking Group and HSBC.

Peter is the Managing Director of the UK Energy Institute (EI) here in Singapore. The EI is the UK’s professional body responsible for developing and sharing knowledge, skills and good practice towards achieving a safe, secure and sustainable future for the energy sector as a whole. Peter is well known in the energy industry having spent most of his career working within the international Oil and Gas industry most recently as an independent consultant through his own company Merlenergy Pte Ltd. He has held a number of senior executive posts in companies such as BP, Arrow Energy and Standard Chartered Bank as well as having built up an international reputation as a strategy and business development consultant to many of the world’s leading national and international energy development companies as well as a number of governments and regulatory agencies. Peter is also actively involved in the performing arts as Chairman of the Teng Ensemble, a highly talented and innovative group of Singaporean Chinese classical instrumentalists and as a member of the board and Treasurer of Wild Rice, one of Singapore’s leading theatre companies.
