Babylon is a global digital healthcare service using Artificial Intelligence to democratise healthcare, by putting an accessible and affordable health service into the hands of every person on earth. Mobasher joined Babylon six years ago as Medical Director,
when the team was little more than a handful of dedicated Babylonians, and hasestablished clinical services in the UK and Rwanda, as well as previously leading UK Clinical Operations.

Prior to moving to the Asia Pacific office, Mobasher was specifically focused on developing babylon’s AI products and technology, and has worked closely with governments, regulators and commercial partners at a global level throughout his career.

Mobasher is a General Practitioner by clinical background, with experience of the private and public sector. As a GP partner in the Babylon GP at Hand service, he established a ground-breaking digital primary care service, which is both the first service of it’s kind in the UK NHS’ 70 year history and one of the fastest growing NHS
services ever.

In 2018, Mobasher was named the most influential GP in the UK. (Pulse's annual Power 50 list). Mobasher has extensive clinical experience in the UK and overseas, in both developed and developing country settings. Mobasher started his career in digital health more than a decade ago, when he led mobile health research on a global scale for the World Health Organisation (WHO). He has expertise in Patient Safety and Quality Improvement, having worked in the Patient Safety Programme at WHO, and as lead for Quality Improvement at the British Medical Journal. He previously worked as Clinical Advisor to the Chief Medical Officer of England, advising on a number of key public health and policy issues.

Ewan Davis (Director of Quadria Capital)

Ewan Davis manages the South East Asia healthcare portfolio for Quadria Capital, one of the largest healthcare-focused private equity firms in Asia, with over US$2 billion in managed capital.

Ewan is actively involved in managing the firm and currently serves on the boards of Soho Global Health, FV Hospitals, Medical Specialists Asia and Lablink. Prior to joining Quadria Capital, Ewan was an Investment Banker with UBS originally in London before moving to Hong Kong and Singapore where he was part of the M&A and Corporate Finance teams that led the bank’s South East Asia and Emerging Markets investment banking strategies and advising clients on capital markets and M&A activities across all major South East Asia markets.

Ewan received an MEng in Engineering Science from the University of Oxford.

Thalia is the Managing Partner at Asia Care Group, and leads their work across APAC. Thalia focuses on healthcare financing engagements, including market access and pricing, the development of new insurance propositions and the use of novel mechanisms to ensure improved health outcomes, such as PPP’s and JV’s. Thalia has advised many of the Governments’ in the region on health reform, particularly in the context of achieving UHC. Thalia also advises multinationals and investors on commercial opportunities and approaches in the region, often helping bridge the gap between public and private systems. Prior to leading ACG, Thalia held a number of senior roles within the UK’s NHS. She spent almost a decade working in strategic management roles in NHS acute care hospitals, before moving into advisory positions.
Thalia is currently Chair of the British Chamber of Commerce’s Health and Life Sciences committee for South East Asia, and Vice Chair for the parallel committee in Hong Kong.

Derek Goldberg (Managing Director Asia Pacific of Aetna International)

Derek Goldberg is Managing Director, Asia Pacific for Aetna International and a member of the global executive leadership team. He has played in intergral role in Aetna’s growth in Asia since its entry into Asian markets with the acquistion of Goodhealth Worldwide in 2007.

After joining Aetna at their head office in Hartford, Connecticut in 2006, he relocated to Hong Kong in 2008. From 2008 to 2010 he led the integration of Goodhealth Worldwide’s Asia operations into Aetna. Since 2011, after relocating to Singapore, he has led Aetna’s expansion in the region from three countries to seven through a combination of organic and inorganic growth, including the acquisitions of Interglobal in 2014, and Bupa Thailand in 2018.

In 2017, Mr. Goldberg was named CEO of the Year by the Insurance Asia Awards. The company has also won several Insurer of the Year awards during his tenure.
