Executive Director of Global Compact Network Singapore

Ms Esther Chang is the Executive Director of Global Compact Network Singapore (GCNS). She leads GCNS initiatives to raise awareness and adoption of corporate sustainability efforts in Singapore and the region. She serves as the main liaison between GCNS and the United Nations Global Compact.

Passionate about creating positive change in society and problem solving, Ms Chang has dedicated her career in the nonprofit sector and has worked for leading healthcare and education organisations, as well as grassroots NGOs in Canada and Singapore. She champions multilateral partnerships to responsibly invest in and develop sustainable solutions at scale. She is an active volunteer in human rights and social welfare causes.

Ms Chang has a B.Sc (Hons) in Life Sciences from Queen's University (Canada) and completed post-graduate studies in Fundraising and Volunteer Management (Humber College, Canada) and Sustainability Leadership (University of Cambridge, UK). She is CFRE certified since 2012, an internationally recognized accreditation for philanthropic fundraising administered by CFRE International.

Suzy has lived and worked in Asia for 10 years.
Suzy manages the Asia business of Mullenlowe salt, overseeing a team of 10 consultants working in corporate, consumer and brand purpose and sustainability communications for global and regional brands.
Suzy has over 20 years’ communications experience working at a senior level, with both corporate and consumer clients, in-house and agency-side. Her passion is leading and inspiring teams to produce engaging and effective communications campaigns for brands which help them deliver on their business objectives.
She has had two periods of entrepreneurship, running her own award-winning communications consultancies in both the UK and Singapore.
Starting her communications career in-house working in UK government, Suzy has also worked with market-leading brands in multiple sectors and markets including Tesco, Roche, Essilor and many Unilever brands, including Lifebuoy, Clear, Ponds and Liptons.

He advises brands and corporates on social purpose and sustainability communications and is a regular speaker and commentator on the power of business to lead positive change.

Andy is a B Corp Ambassador and member of Medinge Group think tank.

John Laws is a Managing Director and Head of Government & Regulatory Relations and Policy, Asia Pacific at Barclays based in Singapore.
In this role, John acts as a global relationship and escalation point with all primary regulatory, government and policy bodies within the region. John plays a key role in ensuring a coordinated response to G20 developments and all related regional regulations, along with key engagements with regulatory supervisors.
Before taking on his current role, John was COO for Global Foreign Exchange, Prime Services, Asia Pacific Trading and eCommerce. Prior to joining Barclays in 2009, John spent 14 years with Merrill Lynch in Sydney, Hong Kong and Tokyo, including 7 years in New York as Assistant Treasurer and Head of Global Funding and Liquidity Management. He spent 7 years with Bankers Trust in a variety of roles including trading, sales and finance.
In 2009, John became a member of the ISDA (International Swaps and Derivatives Association) Asia Steering Committee. In 2014, he joined the board of ASIFMA (Asia Securities Industry & Financial Markets Association). He is also the Chairman of the board of DDRS, the Asian trade repository of DTCC.

Dave leads the Customer Success Team at Kaer where he is responsible for delivering Kaer’s Brand Experience across their regional “air-conditioning as a service” portfolio. With a background in consumer marketing, Dave specialises in customer insights that drive Kaer’s product development and customer engagement platform.

As an advocate of the Circular Economy and the product-as-a-service business model, Dave regularly shares experiences with large MNC’s and start-ups who are looking to transition to this disruptive business model.

Dave is the current Chair of the Built Environment Group, having served on the committee since 2016.
