Originally from London, Joe has lived in Singapore for over 10 years with a year in both Amsterdam and Sydney.

After working in London and Amsterdam, Joe joined the British Council (Singapore) in 2012 to help lead their Professional Development Centre (PDC). He consulted with organisations to conduct learning needs analysis and build multiyear training programmes in a range of skills competencies. His clients included DBS, Standard Chartered, Sony, Tanglin Trust School, Government Technology Agency and Clifford Chance.

Joe also co-founded the British Council’s PDC in Manila and was a regional leader in growing Centres in both Kuala Lumpur and Hong Kong.

In 2019, he was appointed as Regional Manager at the International Baccalaureate (based in Singapore with one year in Sydney). Joe led the teacher training department for their 1,300 schools in Asia Pacific, stretching from Pakistan to New Zealand. In his time at the IB, Joe was in charge of the department to deliver training to over 23,000 teachers a year, launch new training products and lead global strategy initiatives. He was the lead for the future of learning and global market research projects on how to implement learning pathways and hybrid learning for all 6,000 IB schools across the world.

He left the IB in May 2023 to become Director of Lingua Learn (Singapore).

Joe has been active outside of his official roles having been Chair of the British Chamber of Commerce Leadership and Talent Development committee, the Young British Chamber and a member of the British Chamber Board. He is a double award winner for Leading Diversity and Inclusion and won the Young Professional of the Year award at the Britcham annual awards gala. He also volunteers for the Voices of Asia youth mentorship programmes helping young professionals at the early stages of their careers.

In May 2023, Joe started his own franchise business in Singapore, Ligua Learn. Lingua Learn is a language school, training centre and learning consultancy organization focused on delivering customised solutions to clients. Joe incorporated this business in Singapore and has been building it from the ground up winning several major clients and contracts in the first year of operation. In the session, Joe is happy to answer questions around setting up a business, financial management, budgeting and managing cashflow, getting clients any aspects of running a startup in Singapore that has won contracts across the region and globally.

Nico Putri brings 17 years of expertise in international business development and project management, having worked across multinational corporations, government-linked companies, and small to medium-sized enterprises. She holds a Bachelor of Arts (Honours) in International Business from Birmingham City University, along with diplomas in Business Administration and Mass Communication. Nico began her career in 2007 and served as a Senior Business Advisor at the SME Centre @ Singapore Malay Chamber of Commerce & Industry in 2015, where she assisted local SMEs.

As a Senior Business Services Advisor at the British Chamber of Commerce Singapore, Nico specialized in delivering chargeable bespoke projects to UK SMEs. She supported various sectors, including Food & Beverage, Education, and Retail, by facilitating business matching and trade missions while establishing partnerships in Southeast Asia. Previously, she served as the Managing Director of an Oil & Gas and Marine Offshore company, achieving Zero Non-Conformance in an American Petroleum Institute audit. Nico is recognized for her strategic thinking and strong client relationship management in navigating international trade regulations.
