British Chamber of Commerce Singapore

The British Chamber of Commerce Singapore is an independent membership organisation committed to helping strengthen the ties between the UK and Singapore. We have done so since 1954.

Whether you are just starting your research into ASEAN by scoping the market opportunities in Singapore, have established your business and seeking growth, building connections to the UK Government, or looking for brand exposure and employee development opportunities, the Chamber is here to support your needs at every stage of your journey.

With a full calendar of activities throughout the year including events, publications and opportunities to collaborate with our members, the Chamber team is available to help as a point of resource, introductions, networking, learning and profile-raising.

Our goal is to deliver Member Value through the services we offer that all work towards supporting our members in achieving your business objectives and aligning with our Mission of Building Networks, Connecting Businesses, and Creating Opportunities.

All benefit from our leading position as a strong and credible voice for our members and British businesses in Singapore and beyond.

About the Event

In 2017, the New York Times journalists Megan Twohey and Jodi Kantor published a report that exposes sexual abuse allegations against powerful Hollywood producer Harvey Weinstein. The shocking story served as a launching pad for the #MeToo movement, shattering decades of silence around the subject of sexual assault and harassment.

To mark the International Women's Day 2023, SwedCham's Women4Women Committee and the Embassy of Sweden in Singapore invite you to a screening of the movie "She Said" (watch trailer here) at The Projector. After the screening, we will have a 30 min open mic discussion on what we have learnt since the start of the #MeToo movement and where we are today, in 2023. The discussion will be moderated by policy expert Neha Thakkar. There will be opportunities for networking both before and after the film/discussion.

Date: Wednesday 1 March 2023

Time: 6:30-10 pm (movie screening starts at 7:00 pm)

Venue: The Projector, 6001 Beach Road, Golden Mile Tower, #05-00, Singapore 199589 (Blue Room)

Ticket: $45 (includes the movie screening, one drink of choice and a snack (popcorn/nachos).

The event is open to the public.

You can purchase additional drinks as well as food at your own expense before and after the movie. Food service closes at 9 pm and the bar at 10 pm.

This event is hosted by SwedCham's Women4Women Committee and the Embassy of Sweden in Singapore.
