Boon Tan
Managing Director of CST Tax AdvisorsBoon is a Chartered Accountant and Chartered Tax Advisor who focuses on taxation compliance and advisory issues for high net
worth family groups including asset protection, structuring for wealth accumulation and family offices services.
Boon joined CST in 2012 and was appointed a Principal of the Sydney practice in 2013 where he specialised in Australian
compliance for individuals, trusts, companies and superannuation funds including taxation and company secretarial functions.
Boon has advised his clients on Australian taxation matters associated with tax residency, capital gains tax and advice on inbound and outbound taxation matters for expatriates. Boon also regularly assists with the establishment of a subsidiary for
foreign corporations entering the Australian market.
In 2016, Boon moved to Singapore to become the Managing Director of that practice. Prior to joining CST, Boon spent 12 years
working for both boutique and international accounting firms where his focus was on managing family groups and Australian
accounting and tax compliance for foreign subsidiaries where he played a virtual CFO function with experience in the retail
fashion, financial services, cosmetics, real estate and IT industries.
Boon holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree from the University of New South Wales and a Masters of Commerce degree from
Macquarie University.
Boon is a member of Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand, the Taxation Institute of Australia (Chartered Tax
Advisor) and the Sydney Chapter of the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners.
