About the Roundtable



The 2021 United Nations Climate Change Conference, also known as COP26, is scheduled to be held in Glasgow, Scotland from 1 to 12 November 2021 under the presidency of the United Kingdom Government.


The British Chamber of Commerce in Singapore will host a virtual ThinkTank Roundtable as part of the official Singapore International Energy Week (SIEW) programme on the commercial opportunities from a decarbonising world, commencing with a focus on the pathway to the conference.

Section 1: Driving action in the runup to COP26


The timetable leading to COP26 in November 2021 with a senior UK Government rep discussing the ambitions and key elements of COP26. Hear how the businesses, investors, organisations, cities, and regions drive action on climate change and coordinate this work with governments and parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC).


Section 2: Making 'green' commercial


The options available to reduce emissions and their commercial viability. Projects will be viewed through a commercial lens, including incentives to enable private sector finance and roll out of associated infrastructure at scale in ASEAN.


Section 3: Successful decarbonisation projects


Case study-led session with examples of current test-bed decarbonisation projects. Discovering how businesses can prosper in a decarbonising world. with a focus on emerging developments in industry, cities, island nations, and transport including Hydrogen, Carbon Capture Utilisation and Storage, and Waste to Value projects.
