Following the signing of the UK-Singapore Green Economy Framework, together with the recent EarthShot Prize being hosted in Singapore, the British Chamber of Commerce Singapore introduces a new conference in Singapore. This new event in our calendar builds on these platforms to support businesses in championing and driving a cleaner and greener world by using the foundations created by policy makers to illustrate commercial opportunities and best practice sharing for businesses.
The Sustainability Dialogue is designed to be a forum that brings together key business leaders, Governments and policy makers, and the wider eco-system to deliver a meaningful and purposeful set of conversations to help drive action-orientated conversations on the green economy.
Setting the Scene: Policy & Ambitions
The day will begin with scene setting keynote speeches from His Excellency Nik Mehta OBE, British High Commissioner to Singapore, and our Guest of Honour Alvin Tan, Minister of State for the Ministry of Culture, Community and Youth, and the Ministry of Trade and Industry. This will be followed by a keynote from our Title Partner, Barclays Private Bank, and a moderated discussion on policy developments in the UK-Singapore Green Economy Framework (GEF) featuring the British High Commission and the Ministry of Trade and Industry.
The Commercial Opportunities
Our Sustainability and Resilience Committee will then explore commercial opportunities in the green economy and practices that benefit the environment and society, before we move into a discussion on the skills needed to meet the demands of the green economy.
Taking Action
After the networking lunch, attendees choose from workshops focusing on different GEF pillars hosted in two different rooms onsite, with sharing and audience discussion for the capture of actionable ideas and opinions. On the agenda in these sessions are Advancing Carbon Markets, Green Finance, and Transparent ESG Reporting, Greening Transport - Industry Progress and Pathways to Decarbonisation, Charting the Future of Low Carbon Energy - Adoption, Innovation, and Regional Policy, and Smart Cities - Innovating for Inclusive, Liveable, and Sustainable Urban Futures.
Thank you to our Title Partner Barclays Private Bank, Silver Partner The Carbon Trust, and Venue Partner Pan Pacific Singapore, and our Supporting Partner the Singapore Business Federation, who are all helping us to drive the conversation forwards together. We look forward to also welcoming students from Westbourne College at the Dialogue, who will be attending the sessions and capturing the highlights of each for future actions.
This conference is part of the British Chamber's Road to Net Zero theme. Speaker details will continually be updated.
