Darren BruntonManaging Director of KBA Training Centre Pte Ltd
Darren is the Managing Director of two companies based in Singapore. He is well-versed with working in high risk and stressful environments. With a 14-year career in the British Forces (of which 6 years with Commando Forces, and a member of the Falklands Task Force) and an overall career within the military / commercial diving industry spanning from 1977. In the commercial world, he has worked as a saturation diver, diving supervisor, subject matter expert, safety representative, a coach and trainer for senior leadership teams.
Having been based and living in Singapore since 1991, throughout his career he has worked in the UK, Europe, Singapore, Malaysia, Brunei, China, Mexico, Argentina, Taiwan, Thailand, USA, Indonesia. In 2002, he co-established KB Associates Pte Ltd (KBA) and KBA Training Centre Pte Ltd (KBAT) based in Singapore, as a consultancy & training provider for promoting the highest standards in governance that has led to a successful 22 years as a business owner. Darren has personally trained and coached individuals in multidisciplinary industries including government bodies, government regulators, military and public service agencies, global energy providers, construction, hospitality, travel, airline, consumer product, banking and education entities.
He has excellent training, coaching and communication skills that have been demonstrated by his 22 years of experience of training and coaching to the broad range of skill sets from employee to C Suite disciplines in national and international organisations.
Darren has a MSc in Occupational Health, Safety and Environmental Management and a Chartered Fellow of the Institution of Safety & Occupational Health (CFIOSH), and a Registered IRCA UK ISO45001:2018 Lead Auditor. He is a member of The Institute of Industrial Accident Investigators and Member of Asia Pacific Institute of Experts. As a member of the International Marine Contractors Association (IMCA) Diving Division Management Committee, and Regional Chairman of the Asia Pacific Region, he plays an intrinsic role with establishing and review of commercial diving industry safe work practices and industry guidance, he held the position of Vice Chairman for the Commercial Diving Association (Singapore) for 10 years and Chairman of IOSH Singapore Branch for 6 years.
Darren was the Chairman/Governor for the work group committee revising the Singapore Code of Practice for Commercial Diving SS511:2018, and between 2017-2019 was a National Examination Board Occupational Safety and Health (NEBOSH) Council and Board of Trustee member.
Darren believes in lifelong learning, positivity and providing opportunities for others to achieve their dreams. Having spent many months in the Arctic during his military career, and years underwater during his commercial diving career, he has established the A.R.C.T.I.C Principles for Leadership and Coaching; A- Adaptable: R- Resourceful: C- Commitment: T- Tenacity: I- Integrity: C- Courage.
